The COILS algorithm shows the presence of a coiled-coil region in the MJ0577 open reading frame. The analysis of MJ0577 by COILS can be seen here. Since coiled-coil encoding sequence can lead to matches with other coiled-coil proteins and thus obscure more meaningful hits, the user might manually mask this region to improve the sensitivity of the search.
